Scenes From The Tri-County Reception

We hosted the opening reception for the Yosemite Western Artists 47th Annual, Tri-County Open Art Competition and Exhibition, at Circle Gallery on Thursday May 9th.

The Tri-County show featured artists from Madera, Fresno, and Mariposa counties. Artists submitted works in mixed media, photography, oil, acrylic, drawing, pastel, fiber, digital, watercolor, and sculpture.

During the event, students from the MCAC Foklorico dance class performed to an enthusiastic crowd.

Trowzers Akimbo (shown here with Franka Gabler (left) and Betty Davis (center) won the Best of Show Award with his colorful painting, Conference Call.

The Madera County Arts Council gifted Phillip and Klina Oberti with a lovely painting by Leslie Deering. The Arts Council commissioned Deering to create a piece in appreciation for all that the Oberti’s have done for MAAC. The piece depicts a dogwood tree from the Oberti’s Bass Lake cabin.

Artists and art lovers enjoyed an inspiring evening.

Cassandra Reyes and Steve Copland
More award winners: Carolyn Hartling, Sandee Scott, Gina Mims, Shannon Grissom, Mary Beth Harrison

The exhibit runs through June 28th. We look forward to seeing you!
