The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a long one-act musical comedy conceived by Rebecca Feldman with music and lyrics by William Finn, a book by Rachel Sheinkin and additional material by Jay Reiss. The show centers on a fictional spelling bee set in a geographically ambiguous Putnam Valley Middle School. Six quirky adolescents compete in the Bee, run by three equally quirky grown-ups.

Regarding their last production:
“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The cast and crew of “Harvey” has been one of the most dedicated and professional group of young people it has been my pleasure to teach and work with in a long time. They pushed through difficulties in recasting, rehearsal schedule changes, and technical challenges to produce a fine example of our craft. It is impossible to state how proud I am of these talented students, some of whom I will lose next year, but the sophomores, juniors and seniors who remain will help nurture new freshmen, bring them into the fold, and lay the foundation for future success. Many thanks and kudos also to my costumers, who busted their tails making these characters come alive. Special thanks also to the dedicated parents who supported their children with consistency and application of their own considerable talents. The future is bright. Now, on to planning next year!”
