Kathleen Mattox is a native of the San Joaquin valley who specializes in watercolor. A lover of color, line and texture, she applies the basic elements of design in everything she creates. Thriving on exploring alternative subjects and approaches in her watercolors and mixed media pieces, she describes her work as “wet, wild, witty, and whimsical” and expects that all her pieces be interesting and fun for both the artist and the viewer.

Recently retired from a long career in education, she looks forward to indulging in her passion—painting—as her long-awaited vocation. . . and avocation! Her work can be viewed at Timberline Gallery in Oakhurst, The Circle Galley in Madera, and The Art Stand Gallery in Sanger.
